The Alternative:
Renewable Energy

imageA study done at the City’s request shows that the new fossil-fuel burning power plants being advanced by the Board of Supervisors are not necessary. The study identified a green alternative that could meet San Francisco’s power needs by focusing on conservation and getting more power from renewable sources like solar and wind.

In their rush to judgment to build these three new power plants, the Board is choosing to ignore the green alternative. The City should support conservation efforts and renewable energy—not rush to build three new fossil-fuel burning power plants.
